Tommy John Surgery on August 20, 2008 cost him most of 2009 season.[1]
As a Rule 5 draftee, Cubs had to offer Parisi back to St. Louis Cardinals, but since Parisi had been previously outrighted in his career, he had the right to refuse an outright assignment and become a free agent. He chose to stay with the Cubs organization.
