The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim began major league play as an expansion team in 1961 and were originally called the Los Angeles Angels playing in a park called Wrigley Field that was designed to look like the real Wrigley Field in Chicago[1]. They became the California Angels in 1965 and went by that name through 1996, then switched to the Anaheim Angels in 1997 and finally their current name in 2005 when owner Arte Moreno clashed with the city of Anaheim over naming and stadium rights. They've faced the Cubs just once in interleague play in 2004.

Prior to becoming a major league team, they were the Triple A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs (1932 to 1956) and owned by Cubs owner William Wrigley for even longer than that.
