Drafted as a shortstop in 2005 and made his way to Triple A Iowa Cubs and played for Cubs in the Arizona Fall League as well. Traded in July of 2008 to the Seattle Mariners and they put him at pitcher and then subsequently released him. Played some independent ball before resigning with Cubs in June of 2008.
